Our battle for food security, climate, housing, economic, educational and racial justice starts here. Mary Jobaida is running for NYS Assembly for District 37 in Queens! Mary is committed to fight the battle for all of the residents of Queens. She will stand strong against special interests and those who seek to take advantage of those with no voice in our city.  Mary speaks truth to power. Help her speak louder.

CLIMATE JUSTICE

Mary seeks climate and environmental justice. She will not accept any funding from fossil fuel interests. She wants to reform regulatory bodies that have allowed the air in Queens to become polluted.

HOUSING FOR ALL

Mary believes that everyone in Queens & beyond deserves housing. She supports keeping NYCHA public and will not accept funding from developers in order to oppose over-gentrification and uphold housing justice reforms.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

Mary thinks that high quality and tuition free Pre-K as well as a free college education should be available to all of Queens and beyond. This position is framed by raising children who are attending NYC public schools.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE

Mary thinks that Universal Health Care is a basic human right. Anyone who needs healthcare in the richest country on earth should receive it, without going into debt to a financial institution. 

TRANSPORTATION

Mary commutes to work the same as a huge number of New Yorkers. She seeks reforms of the MTA to facilitate a commuter friendly transportation syetem that serves all New Yorkers.

DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS

This campaign is not taking any contribution from any interest groups. Furthermore, Mary seeks term limits on all state elected offices and public financing of political campaigns. 

CRIMINAL JUSTICE

Mary believes in decriminalazing all forms of poverty. She supported ending cash bail, legalizing marijuana and decriminalizing sex work. She  also believes in the urgent need for police reform and supports defunding and demilitarizing the police.

UNIVERSAL CHILDCARE

Mary believes class disparities and economic inequality begins at birth. All the children of New York State deserve quality infancy and quality childhood. This includes fully funded universal childcare

EXPANDING PAID  PARENTAL LEAVE

Mary proposes extending paid parental leave up to 12 months for all New Yorkers taking care of children in our community and intends to give them the support they need to thrive.
